About uncertain to type photo

Community and ForumQuestions about image uploading and editing on the websiteAbout uncertain to type photo

Evgeny Komarov, 29.01.2011 10:17

As I see it, it is for the site to the possibility of placing images that are not defined to the species level, but surely determined to genus or family at least, in the appropriate taxonomic groups. Iewhile watching some kind / family / subfamily (when there are) could be seen and photos relating to these taxonomic groups, but not to certain species. Especially important for the exotic, but for at least the Palearctic. To all unidentified does not lie in a heap.A pile of something will grow, so the more structured it is, the easier it will be a specialist in the group immediately see undetermined species of the family / subfamily / kind. The idea emerged when trying to deal with the Guyana pictures, although earlier in the head "cool ".

I am a bit do not understand this important question now is not solved? Only I have not much to certain species, and upload them to the site is now in the pile I do not see the point. After all, some of these photos can be used for illustrations.

Anatoly! At the moment, you can "snap" a photo copy of any taxon and / or family. This question Resolved =)
Example: Here is a photo - https://insecta.pro/gallery/44135 - tied to the genus Psychoda.

Shamil! The problem is that the transition to the specified race I never can see the availability of this picture! This is illogical. For example, as is done in Plantarium with photos, to certain kinds of (similar to a family) - http://www.plantarium.ru/page/pictures/item/44244.html

Anatoly, let's talk in detail. Give the link a loaded image, what kind of a taxon or you have downloaded it.
To view photos in a certain way have to go through the gallery and there to indicate the desired taxon.
For example, back to Psychoda - here on this page have everything: https://insecta.pro/gallery?tx=[879989]+Psychoda++[%D0%A0%D0%BE%D0%B4]&taxlev=all&prec=all&fem=0&author=0&live=0&view=0&g=0&size=s&perpage=100&order=dt

Shamil! I am writing in detail and do not understand the prevailing logic. When viewing kind Psychoda https://insecta.pro/taxonomy/879989 the presence of species of photos that would be reflected in the thumbnails, and the availability of photos, specific to the kind of no way reflected. It is not logical!

Anatoly Plantarium grit that have to login to view the page; -)
In the case of: a similar feature was on the Lepidoptera, but disappeared in the fog in the process of moving to the insects. Now just added and launched again. Now the pages supraspecific taxa displayed thumbnails images that are defined before the taxon or to its subsidiaries supra. If there are many pictures, showing the first 24 of them (go to the page with all fotami possible link there).

Peter! Now I see. I think that these photos can also be used to demonstrate compliance in the absence of certain taxa to species.

12.10.2015 11:51, Peter Khramov

Generally, yes, but now I work as usual, ie infa previews for supraspecific taxa is taken from the child views, not the photo directly. In the future, this approach will change, but it is so.
