Seems to be Carterocephalus silvicola Meigen, female.
Or: Rheumaptera hastata.
Eulype hastata L. (Cidaria) perhaps?
Actually, I knew this is Polygonia c-album since my childhood. Just something went wrong while upload and all my Polygonias appeared as "undetermined".
Neither can be deleted nor reuploaded.
All my Polygonias for some reason appeared as "undetermined"...
What's this bug? Appears as "undetermined".
This is Siona lineata Sc. What's about new section "Masterpiece photo" where the art value of pics would be debated? Like this very photo, surely one chef-d'oeuvre!
Cool! Time to make special section "rare shot" (as it was in the 1970s in that TV-show "In the world of animals").
Seems a female.
Might be female.
I saw once one took off the grass.
Isn't this N. xanthomelas?
Means - Ulmus sp.
One of a masterpiece!
Seems better to have it enabled first and then have a detailed dicussion.
Is it either striped from its underside just as all other Catocala?
http://lepidoptera.pro/gallery/21433.
Females are said to happen to have that.
Or rather right (it's a swallowtail).
Why not rotate this amazing pic 90 degrees left?
Aporia hippia, probably?
I'd like to think this is Polygonia C-album, the shell is curved quite typically in where the forewing's placed (what's clearly seen). Further identification is on experts.
Exactly.
Seems to be aged M. stellatarum.
Antiopa.
Thanks! This is a best one of about 30 shots.
Would be great to note always in the species description its main distinctive feature/s (1 or 2 at least) helping to discern it from similar species.
Nymphalis sp.
One of three possible: S.ocellatus; S.caecus; S. kindermanni.
Isn't that a female?
In connection with the written I can say chto3 years ago, I saw her in the southern Crimea. Photograph failed, very nimble.
Bah, that's the question. Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and so on.
Under the USSR belt.
Well, I'd suppose it's a poplar hawk-moth.
No any. Caught even before I was born!
I'm certainly not against Nymphalidae, but maybe some programm got off?
And here's another new Nymphalidae!
Here's another hit to adyn Nymphalidae
And anything that got our eye in this Nymphalidae on our site?
It seems more and someone in satirid Nymphalidae us.
I somewhat doubt of whether could it be jurtina...
If I am not mistaken, in Russian it is called a Dutch horse-chestnut leaf miner?
Yes, they are such!
Wonder, what's Catocala fraxini's abdomen colored? Never saw that.
This is something like quiz or?
Probably, the next-to-last brood.
Madame.
Found out. But can't upload more today.
Try to find.
Once I found a few tracks on the bark
