Coming back to what I started with, this region is described in 40th region whilst I found nothing on Pyrausta neocespitalis on the continent.

Vasily, the fact Synev doesn't mention that is not confusing, but there are a row of cons. By the way, P. porphyralis is mentioned in 38th region where is this pic from. :) Key to the insects of the Far East of the USSR describes Pyralis cespitalis Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775 in Primorye, European Yakutia, Zabaikalye, Middle Asia, Japan, Northeast China. This species name now serves as a P. despicata synonym. The Japanese website though doesn't mention any of these names whilst has Pyrausta neocespitalis Inoue, 1982 which fits one to one in appearance to our specimen http://jpmoth.org/Crambidae/Pyraustinae/Pyrausta_neocespitalis.html
I'll try to check what's distributed in Kahabarovsk region and what's the areal of the new species. As I see, this is Japanese. :)

Alexandr, well P. porphyralis neither mentioned in 37th region (that's why I didn't move it right away). This is it http://lepidoptera.pro/gallery/27336 Habitus fits. Synev can't be taken as an axiom considering these mismatches.

Hurried, seems new species Pyrausta neocespitalis in Russia as Pyrausta despicata isn't mentioned in 37th region.
