Erebia alberganus не летает в северной части Европы, зато нередко встречается в Центральных и Южных Альпах, а также в Апеннинах. В горных районах достигает высоты 1800 м. [85].

Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species

Длина переднего крыла около либо в районе 2 см. Цвет характерной для чернушек перевязи варьируется от коричневого до оранжевого, сама же перевязь разделена темными жилками. Испод крыльев полностью соответствуюет верху. [85].
