Habitus and Differences from alike species

  • Wingspan 40-50 mm. Two spesies of twisted swordtail butterflied used to be known as genus Palaza Moore, 1888, occurring in the highlands of Thailand. This species, UH with two discal rings in spaces 5 and 7, which joined by a single black bar, with semi-transparent wings, markings on UN can be seen through above. HW produced, with a long and twisted swordtail at vein 4, tornal lobes in spaces 3 and 2 rounded, deeply excavated at subtornal area just above the lobe in spase 2. There are two subspecies recorded from two localities, Doi Inthanon and Doi Pha Hom Pok. Generally they looked the same and some authors suggested that subsp. fangana is synonymic to kimurai. [144].
