Habitus and Differences from alike species

  • Wingspan 11-15 mm. Male, UP is purplish blue with broad dark borders (slightly over 1.0 mm); UN is brownish gray, FW without a cell spot, with a spot in space 11 above the middle of cell; HW postdiscal spot in space 6 is in line with those in 5-7. While that ofZizina otisshifted inwardly and out of line with the spots in spaces 5 and 7. Female is pale brown. Subsp. pygmaeais slightly smaller and duller colored wings than inhylax.
