Most similar, in my opinion, to the larva of Iris oratoria, although I have not yet seen such a color.

Colleagues, I searched the entire Internet, but I couldn't find what it is frown.gif.
If you know, please tell me. These are either worms, or aphids of some kind. They clung to the branches of a bush - at first I even thought that it was fluff stuck. Only after looking closely, I noticed that they were moving and crawling. I saw it on one of the bushes. That is, there was no mass distribution. Taken on June 27, 2010 in the south of the Moscow region.

I'll try to remember the bush. It was very similar in appearance to the third photo on the left side of the first row on the second link. I also have a picture of a beast that looks very similar to the one in the first link.
Thank you so much for the tip!

The photo shows both specimens of Scirpophaga praelata.
I was the one who showed my erudition about Scirpophaga xanthopygata. This species is found from Primorye to the south of the European part. Not found in Ukraine yet. smile.gif

And what do you need to be sure that this is definitely a long-legged mosquito? And it can't be a pest of grain stocks?

You can try up to the species... smile.gifwith a 99% chance-Sympetrum meridionale, young male. Well, it was correctly said: there is a separate topic for determining dragonflies.

The second species Scirpophaga xanthopygata Schawerda 1922 does not reach Ukraine.

It is also found in Ukraine, just in many determinants of this kind (the same definition of insects in Europe.parts of the USSR, Slamka) indicate only praelata. So I considered my own as such until I saw Crambidae Europaea.

Sergey, I see it is not boiled, it is necessary to cook, yellow scales on the end of the body is not a diagnostic sign. there are also praelata such. It would be nice to have xanthopygata.

Now I was on a Japanese site on Crambidae - " 63 "(found on a search engine). There are both praelata and xanthopygata. The first one is certainly more similar to my copy from the Sum, but I noticed the size of 28 -32 mm. And mine are all 45-47! I wonder what the scale of "luganchanka" is?

24.03.2011 18:57, Alexandr Zhakov

Do not pay attention to the size, praelata varies very much in males 22-32. Females are 35-47 by Slamka. In xanthopygata 22-47 according to the DV determinant. Luhansk butterfly, judging by the label, is larger than 4 cm.
