Here is such a miracle caught, who can tell me who it is?
If possible, and a link to the introduction

It is an invasive North American species of humpback cicadas Stictocephala bisonia Kopp & Yonke 1977. In the Russian literature, it is still erroneously listed under the name S. bubalus. Google the last name, it's a pest.

Tell me, what kind of cockroaches?
Synanthropic, they arrived in the city together with Chinese workers. Cryptocurch - for scale.

Shelfordella tartara (Saussure, 1874).

It is often indicated, especially on English-language sites, as a synonym for S. lateralis (Walker, 1868) - in my opinion, incorrectly.

Can you tell me what kind of midges fly in great numbers on the hazel leaves in September? (And yesterday I noticed how the larva of a babbler caught one of these midges and began to eat it.)

These are not "midges". These are aphids (Aphididae).

03.09.2011 16:25, Коллекционер

I have Mantis religiosa, but they have a slightly different pattern under the front paws
, some as option 1, others as option 2
are they different species?subspecies
this difference occurs in both males and femalespicture: P1010873.jpg

03.09.2011 16:32, Dracus

No, they're just different forms. Some subspecies differ in the shape and intensity of the darkening of the eye, but not in the presence/absence of a white spot in it.

By the way, was it worth creating a new theme? Cockroaches and mantises are rarely displayed, it seems to me that the topic "Who is this?" is quite enough.

03.09.2011 18:22, Коллекционер

well, as it is not fair in relation to them, it turns out, there are beetles, there are butterflies, there are straight-winged ones, there are diptera, and there are no cockroach-like ones

Or maybe it's Myzocallis coryli?

04.09.2011 6:54, Bianor

Mantises and cockroaches-different orders smile.gif

04.09.2011 13:11, Dracus

Now, as a rule, they are combined into one (Dictyoptera)as suborders.

in the literature that I saw, it is written that one(I. Akimushkin " INSECTS.SPIDERS.PETS")

04.09.2011 23:14, Юстус

Could it be Myzocallis coryli?

Nah. The one (Myzocallis coryli ) is green like mine ...la (option: melancholy). And this one... This one is simply beautiful.

I found this recently on a tree. What struck me was that the jars were solid and the entrance was narrow. I don't know how the young wasp gets out of there - somehow it dissolves and breaks up the house...

These are ancient-jawed insects, bristle-tails (Thysanura) from the family. Machilidae. Sometimes they are assigned to a separate unit.

It is a bristle-tailed insect from the order Archaeognatha, fam. Machilidae, most likely. The appendages of the abdomen are coxites with styluses, rudiments of the abdominal limbs.

Help me find out the name of the bug.Unfortunately,I don't have a photo, and I've never seen such beetles in my life before. Its size is about 20 mm round shape, dark gray or black color. In late August, early September, late in the evening or early in the morning, it begins to chirp very loudly,if you can call it a chirp sounds similar to the sound of a motorcycle starting up in the interpretation of the Tuvan folk instrument(tandyr)in my opinion. It is almost impossible to find it in the crown of a tree, as it immediately falls silent when approaching.I heard it in the very south of the Khasansky district in the Far East.I searched the Internet, but I didn't find anything similar.
