Pronotum pattern painfully characteristic:
https://www.biolib.cz/en/image/id148657/
http://cockroach.speciesfile.org/Common/ba...&ImageID=178889
In other cosmopolitan synanthropic species of African origin (Brunei, Australasia), it differs significantly, while in most representatives of the genus (including all the Asian ones I have seen), the pronotum is generally monotonous. True, I have not seen several types of non-philanthropic East Asian peripanets either in person or in photos (not on the web), but I can't guarantee that none of them looks exactly like Americana, but this possibility seems extremely unlikely.

Slavinator, here, after all, is an entomological forum, not a malacological one. The exception is only for arachnids and millipedes. I will delete such posts in the future.

Good afternoon. Here is a hay eater, caught on August 19 in the Leningrad region, in a spruce forest.
Mesopsocus, I believe.
Is it so?
Is it an adult wingless hay eater, or a larva?
Can I define the view?
With respect.

It's a pity that no one knows what kind of insect it is. It turns out that it is foreign?

People - wouldn't it be extremely immoral to put in this topic these crustaceans, filmed in the cold shallow stream Yessentuchok (at our KMV) on 25.07.2008? At least up to the squad, the family...

Dear entomologists, please tell me what kind of insects are in the photo.

The first photos show gamase mites, the last-hay eaters of the genus Liposcelis.
The first ones must be dealt with. Where do you find them most often?

It looks like a leather eater

So do you think these are leatherworm larvae ?
but you can't see the skin-eating beetles.

Moreover, they are still found between the frames of wooden windows.
Can I provide you with another photo ?

If it's still them, then how to fight ?
Boric acid, antimol, substance with chlorpyrifos, alltrin, bendiocarbs ?

Dichlorvos already treated, but the floor is not opened.

04.05.2018 15:08, Necrocephalus

it's definitely a leatherworm larva. you can't tell which one from the photo. If there aren't a lot of them, it doesn't make much sense to poison them. But boric acid will definitely not help from the ones you have suggested. I don't know what alltrin is. bendiocarbs - there is no such thing either. Products based on chlorpyrifos will be effective, but it is easier to do a good wet cleaning, especially in dusty corners, and sort out hats, fur coats, wool socks, and so on...

Thank you very much for the advice, there really are a couple of old felt boots - I'll throw them out.
plus, I have insulation between the floors, but it is based on glass wool, it can also be a source of food for leatherworkers ?

I looked, I didn't find anything old, including felt boots, the house is always clean and tidy, the floors are washed regularly, the house itself is only 7 years old.
These insects crawl out of the floor between the first and second floors, there is nothing there except insulation.

If we assume that this is a leatherworm larva, then where are the beetles ?
I have never seen them (kozheed beetles).

Leatherworm larvae are very unpretentious, can feed on accumulations (even insignificant) of dust under baseboards, between floorboards, etc., where there are always enough organic residues (for example, particles of natural human skin flakes). If there is a mouse corpse under the floor (well, it happens), this is also a good food base for leatherworms. And the beetles are relatively small, winged and rather nondescript. By the way, in the spring in residential (and not only) premises, skin-eating beetles can be found on windows/windowsills (they fly to the light) and the walls of houses. But not everyone knows that these small beetles are leatherworms. wink.gif

Tell me, please, what kind of insect I observed today on May 28 on the shore of the Sea of Azov (Zaporozhye region).

The size of our insect is about 4 cm in length, previously we have not seen such or did not pay attention.

Thank you.
