Is it possible to identify two pompilids (8 and 6 mm, respectively)? Georgia, Tbilisi, park, September 3.

user posted image user posted image

Unfortunately, pompils are not butterflies. According to such images, there are no guarantees even up to the genus. The 1st one is most likely Priocnemis sp., and the second one is Arachnospila sp. But no more than that. frown.gif

Good day to all!
Can you tell me if it is possible to determine the type of megahill from these photos?
Taken in the village of Sovetsky, Vyborg district, Leningrad region, 23,07,2021.
The size of the bee is approx. 15mm.
I've never seen such people before, and I haven't even come across traces of their "work" (cutouts on the leaves).

No, it's a sawfly, cleverly disguised as smile.gifa stalkbelly, but what kind of mite is on its belly I would like to know myself, at least before the family. Trombidiidae или microrombidiidae? And what do they do on the eardrums: just ride or also suck?

18.09.2021 21:32, Александр57

Well, yes, the Tenthredinidae are real Sawflies, I guess. Before the view of course nothing. Unfortunately, I can't say anything about the tick. I didn't even consider it right now

19.09.2021 0:21, ИНО

No, Cephidae.

It looks like it. I wish I could see the tip of my belly. If on 6-7 tergites there are spines in the side corners, then this is exactly it.

Michael hi.
1 this is most likely Dasypoda hirtipes male

Bumblebee on the photo so I pass.) as an option, the usual Bombus hypnorum, but there is no black stripe on the pronotum? also watch the length of the cheeks, if long, possibly B. consobrinus

The color is wrong.

The color is wrong.

what's wrong with the color? There is clearly a color distortion going on, with some kind of greenish tinge. I don't see any other options, without a sling and the presence of black hairs on the pronotum and this color of the belly.

06.10.2021 19:36, ИНО

What's wrong with the color is that it's yellow instead of red. Although, of course, a digital photo can work wonders, and not only good ones. So it is better to ask the author of the picture what this bumblebee really is: red or yellow? I haven't seen any yellow hypnorums either live or online, and I highly doubt their existence. Still, for bumblebees, the color of pubescence is considered an important diagnostic feature, so the photos posted for determination must correctly transmit it.
