Please help me.This is akrida from Cyprus.Much larger than our bicolor which I saw in Dagestan.Twice as large. What kind of view?

A. bicolor is not found in Russia - the taxon was described from South Africa. In Russia, there are approximately A. ungarica (in the steppes), A. oxycephala (semi-deserts and deserts) and A. turrita (Caucasus). How they are actually distributed and where they intersect is a good topic for future research.

In Cyprus, most likely - A. turrita.

kotbegemot, help me clarify this. I looked at some materials and tried to understand what happened to Pholidoptera, since many diverse species of the genus have isolated populations and differ significantly from the eurytopic griseoaptera, including morphologically. For frivaldskyi and ?transsylvanica can be unambiguously described as isolated populations.
Tell me, right, Pholidoptera transsylvanica?
Also unusual is the location of an isolated population, the slope under the podjemnik smt Pylypets (ski resort), Volovets district, Transcarpathian region of Ukraine, 48°39 '07.4" N 23°16 '40.4" E. Moreover, the species was not observed on the adjacent slopes near the podjemnik, and in the immediate vicinity it was not found. Approximately (up to) hundreds of males can be heard in the population when raised. Brachyptera, roselians, verrucivorus, cantans and viridissima jump in their habitats, and isophia / sawtails are found... Below, under the mountains, an ashy shrub is found in the mass. This is a strange situation.
9 females and 5 males were captured for breeding attempts.
kotbegemot, I can add the species to your preliminary list of straight-winged birds of Ukraine, remove the question mark for Pachytrachis gracilis in Transcarpathia, this list is one of the most useful materials for many fans!

Yes, it is Pholidoptera transsylvanica. By the way, it is indicated for Ukraine in the Czech book (Kočárek P., Holuša J. & Vidlička Ľ. 2005: Blattaria, Mantodea, Orthoptera & Dermaptera of Czech and Slovak Republics. Ilustrated key 3. Kabourek, Zlín, 349 pp.)

The last one is Barbitistes constrictus.

Thank you.By bicolor, it means I just have outdated information. This Cypriot one is very different from the Dagestani ones - both in color, size, and biotope.

Thank you for the bush lover, and where can I get acquainted with the data on the phenology of the genus? And Barbitistini, also a female pine? But the male was found at an altitude of 1200 meters in the middle of alpine meadows. Ukrainian Carpathians, Volovets district, SMT Zhdeniyevo

Well, I say - there we need to understand more. Most likely, in the Crimea will be ungarica.

The first, as if not Barbitistes serricauda.
I don't know the second one, maybe Poecilimon of some kind.

Well, if Egypt, then probably Anacridium aegyptium (Linnaeus, 1764). Other species of the genus, like, do not fit the range. And the parent is clearly the same.
