Of course, you can't see anything in the photo, but still ... I think everyone saw these shiny beetles in the spring. At the same time, tell us what they eat, do you need humidity? Thank you all very much!

I don't use much, so I've never seen a bug like the one in the photo before.
The photo resembles the work of Picasso.

What dead-eater?

Judging by the red mace of the antennae - Nicrophorus humator. This species and N. germanicus differ slightly in size

What dead-eater?

I will assume that Nicrophorus satanas.

12.05.2011 21:45, MrNo4Noi

Caught a bunch of leaf eaters on nettles and .. like a creeping tenacious. Externally, it resembles Chrysolina (Fastuolina) fastuosa speciosa or C. (Euchrysolina) graminis, but the first one in the photo noticed that the male is black, and the second one is too rare. In "my" case, the male and female are similar in appearance, only there is a difference in size. The determinant says about the difference in the depth of the dotted line - but this is not clear wall.gif
Or maybe there are some similar species that I didn't find out about??

All-Asproparthenis punctiventris? ssp. punctiventris, you have not seen mine yet, I have both without spots and twice as small as the ones shown in the photo.

2MrNo4Noi
we (Tambov and many regions of Russia) graminis is almost twice as large, but this is not an indicator as the color, but the teeth on the claw segment for fast food have not yet been canceled. fastuosa loves nettles, while graminis loves tansy and yarrow.
BUT let's take a photo, there are also other types of for ex. herbacea wink.gif
