Fellow entomologists. Such a question. There was a problem when determining the spiniger and stercorarius. I remember somewhere I saw in the image section like signs for these two types. Also smorel determinant Bey Bienko. I don't see any difference in color at all. But on the paws, yes. So the photo. As I understand the beetle on the left is a spiniger, the tooth is bent, and on the right is an ordinary one. Right or wrong ?

And here is this instance. The size of a stercorarius. Paw in my opinion is also bent. Or not enough? Or am I looking at the wrong sign altogether? Below are all three beetles.

Byturus sp. (family Byturidae). Most likely B. tomentosus.

22.10.2007 8:32, omar

And I would say that Byturus aestivus. What would a raspberry do on buttercup? wink.gif

I had lunch smile.gif
I've seen them on dandelions, too.
But also aestivus can be, finitely

Eh, eh, it's good to have a neighbor like mikepride. But shosh did not have time to do the cap analysis. frown.gif And that beer, lobsters...

Recently, under this name: Byturus ochraceus (Scriba, 1790) syn. aestivus auct. nec (Linnaeus, 1758). I found pictures of both of them: http://www.biolib.cz/en/gallery/dir982/

TROFIM:
the first 2 are spinigeri, the third can be spinigeri, or stercorarius - you need to look for other signs, since their legs are highly variable (like in the first and 3rd specimens), and do not show, in my opinion, belonging to the species.. But at the top it is clear that the first spiniger, and about the 3rd one nothing is clear at all..

2 Ripper What is the third one in general can be a different kind?
2 Bad Den there as it is not clear. What is it in general. Some quick translation. I haven't seen the article

Now, alas, there is no time to make a list. Maybe I'll ripen this month. And so-write on the photo what you need.

22.10.2007 13:02, RippeR

There can't be a 3rd type.. either stercorarius or spinigera. In principle, we also have a mutator, but you can immediately see that it is green.

In early July of this year, I found several specimens on the sandy road in the Vladimir region. The elytra are intensely green (as in the golden bronzer), the body length is about 1 cm.

Rhombonyx holosericea (F.). subfam. Rutelinae, tribe Anomalini. I don't remember the author from memory, but if you have such a need, then I will write it to you, Mr. gumenuk tomorrow. You need to look directly in the catalog.
Sincerely,....

I'll ask you separately about these Anthicidae (with the hope that Dmitry will appear and clarify) - who is it?
Tanzania, Uluguru Mountains, July 2007:
The size is about 25 mm.

Probably referring to Anthiini (Carabidae)

Are they Anthicidae ? eek.gif

I think so.

23.10.2007 10:05, amara

Maybe he meant to say Carabinae, Anthiini?

23.10.2007 10:15, Bad Den

Hmm, the idea of Carabidae crossed my mind, but I dismissed it... for some reason...

23.10.2007 10:24, omar

Maybe he meant to say Carabinae, Anthiini?

So it seems to me cool.gif

23.10.2007 13:51, amara

Here is a not very good photo of one of them:
http://szmn.sbras.ru/picts/Coleoptera/Cara...mannerheimi.htm

23.10.2007 14:25, omar

You're wrong, Amara. This is not Anthia mannergheimi

23.10.2007 14:29, Bad Den

This is not Anthia at all, I have several representatives of this genus, you can not confuse them with anyone else smile.gif
I was told here that it is still a ground beetle, but a relative of the anthium, from the tribe Cypholobini (Carabidae, Anthiinae).

23.10.2007 14:32, amara

You're wrong, Amara. This is not Anthia mannergheimi

I didn't say that. One of them meant similar, from the same tribe or subfamily.

23.10.2007 14:36, omar

http://www.nature-of-oz.com/carabidae.htm Take a look here, there are a few small antics here. Sorry, Boris, I didn't understand you.

I took a picture of the gold coins: the black one was located in the Vladimir region, and the golden one was brought from Turkey. Help me determine it.
