The upper ochraceus, and the lower tomentosus. For complete confidence, look at the Arctic region of what species you have.

How are Byturus ochraceus and aestivus related? Are these synonyms?

28.05.2014 19:41, Vlad1clav

Byturus ochraceus (Scriba, 1790) [=aestivus auct. nec (Linnaeus, 1758)

Not my groups, but my region! Absolutely correctly confused by the lack of gloss and stripes, this is no pedeste, and mass tauricum. Elephant-Chromoderus fasciatus.

This is the pedestrian. Such females are more rare than bald ones (they are common in Europe), but they also occur.

Does anyone know these darklings? Mid-May 2014, South Primorye.

The photo was taken by a friend yesterday. According to the observations of "experienced" now the season of awakening and summer for this beetle. It is quite typical. Surroundings of Yakutsk. Vegetation: pine predominates massively, but the beetle can be brought from other places where birch, willow and alder can occur, depending on the humidity.

I'm not a big fan of darklings, it looks like Nalassus dermestoides to meshuffle.gif, maybe another species.

Not Nalassus dermestoides exactly, but I think the tribe is really Helopini, and I'm not sure if any representatives of this tribe were known from the Russian Far East at all. So the find is extremely interesting. I would appeal to M. V. Nabozhenko, this is his group.

Philonthus, the characteristic coloration of the antennae seems to be visible, so Ph. cognatus is almost certain.

No, not on sorrel, I don't know what.

In any case, offhand, I don't recall anything else like it. The mace is hefty, the nose is short-this is clearly a perapion. Violaceum on Rumex acetosa usually.

It's probably from the genus Cantharis, but it's clearly not a European species, so it's hard to say.

When mowing, on Pulmonaria. Beetle slightly more than 3 mm. Us. 7 chl. Pronotum without a longitudinal groove, only a fossa at the base. On the sides of the pronotum there are rather obvious bumps.
The elytra pattern is strongly reduced. There is practically no prishchitkovogo spot. There are small strokes of light hairs near the middle on the 6th gap.
The feet are red-brown. It is thought to be Mogulones pallidicornis (Gougelet & H. Brisout, 1860).

if my memory serves me correctly, murinus has more purple hairs on the bottom, while undulatus has white ones. so this is undulatus. and the top is not Murinusovsky smile.gif

Well, yes, murinus is usually pink below and the top is in a more monochrome pubescence. Another thing is that there are a couple of other species that are similar in color to undulatus.
