Great. It would be interesting to determine up to the type.
Do you need edeagus or is it based on external signs? Do you have any keys for them?

04.09.2020 11:38, Fornax13

It is better to extract the edeagus, and the task will be simplified.
Keys - here, for example: http://coleonet.de/coleo/texte/leiodes_pal.htm
And here is the work, where this key is taken from, there are more pictures: http://publication.nhmus.hu/folent/cikkres....php?idhoz=6506

Good afternoon! Please help me deal with staphylins. Both beetles were taken in Moscow in approximately the same place, and only in the photo I noticed that they are probably different species.

And tell me, what is the fundamental difference between caesareus and dimidiaticornis? I don't see the difference between the beetles in these photos.

And I assume my fourth photo as erythropterus.

by the way, yes, in the fourth photo of erythropterus, you are right. I didn't look at the spots on the belly.

Caesareus has golden whiskies (you can see them clearly in your photos), while dimidiaticornis has black whiskies. The whiskers of dimidiaticornis are clearly darkened from the 6th segment, while those of caesareus may be only slightly darkened at the apices. The sculpture of prsp. is slightly different. There are other differences, but they are difficult to see in the photo.

At first I thought the usual Deporaus betulae, clicked a couple of times without bothering, already at home I saw that the beaks are long, the color is metallic and the club segments are wide.
