Hello. Please help me identify what was found in a room near the place where street clothes are stacked. At first I took it for a tick. Then, looking closer, I realized that it looked more like some kind of bug.

Russia, Saint Petersburg. Extreme city line.

The quality of the photo is poor, but you don't need to know the specific type. The main thing is to know that this is not a tick.

Yakutia. 15 mm.
Coniocleonus (s. str.) vinokurovi Ter-Minasian & Korotyaev, 1977 ?
It seems that this feature is available. "The median keel is rather thick, sharp, on the forehead it ends abruptly in a small fossa, at the level of the base of the antennae it ends in a deep slit-like fossa."at least the pit towards the top is visible and the keel drops off quite steeply on the forehead.

Hello,

Please help us identify the beetles that have started up in the Moscow region in a new wooden house. Can't figure out if it's a ground beetle or some kind of bark beetle ? How is it dangerous and how to deal with it?

Why don't you like Ch. chrysostigma?

On iNaturalist we made the following assumption:
«Looks like C. igniventris/solieri to me».

So I doubted it.

I think it's igniventris, too. She also lives in the pines. Small, isn't it?

9 mm, I don't know how it counts, small or not.

Well, yes, a small one. And the belly should be green with copper-red triangular spots on the sides. Generally a rare species. And this is probably the northernmost find.
