at the expense of flew into the sun, it is unlikely. I think it's still a moth. I crawled into the shadows and waited for dusk, maybe. or maybe a passing sparrow had lunch.))

Good afternoon!
I've accumulated several photos of lepidoptera and caterpillars over the years cool.gif
Who's who?
All the guys come from the Tula region.

#1 - - - a young caterpillar of some cocoonworm? Quite often we meet, grow up to 8 cm

No. 2 and No. 3 - - - very similar caterpillars, differ in the shape of black spots on the back and the color of stripes on the sides (orange and yellow)

No. 4 - - - slightly smaller than Nos. 2 and 3, the caterpillars are probably of the same family

No. 5 - - - just hatched from the pupa, smile.gifis not the bear drying?

#6 - - - a rather large silkworm (?) fell on me in the middle of the night and did not want to fly away, taking off and returning to me smile.gif

Kos, thank you very much, so you went through the cocoonworms smile.gif
And I'll know about the topic. Maybe I should remove the caterpillars from here, then?

Number 31 (lower )is a nymphalid of the genus Cyrestis, possibly C. nivea or a similar species. Check through Google for the name of the genus, there are a lot of images. And the nocturnal fauna of Southeast Asia - there is little chance that someone will do it...

Thanks! there is a lot of material, but I still hope that someone is already familiar with this fauna. Or maybe advise some other forum

Hello dear forum participants! Please tell me how to distinguish a male from a female ocular and poplar hawk moth? Whiskers of both sexes as I understand combed and tails as it is not very clear.

Hello dear forum participants! Please tell me how to distinguish a male from a female ocular and poplar hawk moth? Whiskers of both sexes as I understand combed and tails as it is not very clear.

The whiskers of a male hawk moth are thicker. The female is usually larger, with a wider belly. But they are distinguished primarily by their antennae.
