Good night Dear Sirs! My apologies for writing off-topic. A scythe caterpillar was caught in the size of the last stage of 10 cm. It lives in a jar with willow branches and has already formed a second cocoon for hibernation in which it is now located. There is also a linden pupa ( it has been lying on the balcony for about a month and the second one has just pupated). Is it possible to put them in the refrigerator by creating an imitation of the winter period and then display the imago at room temperature? If so, how to do it correctly and not get the shape, aberation or even death of the insect from these actions?

I apologize for the mistakes, it is not convenient to write from the phone.

Row 2-unpaired pink silkworm Lymantria mathura Walker, 1865, I see for the first time on Sakhalin, both arrived on September 1, it was a very warm night of 17 gr.
Row 3-nun Lymantria monacha (Linnaeus, 1758)

The Blue line is not marked for Sakhalin. But we need to dig through the literature after 2008.

I looked at all the Lacanobia before my message, yes 1 and 2 are a bit similar to Lacanobia suasa, but rather it is not it, and 3 is similar to Lacanobia praedita, but it is not present in the 36th region.

The catalog mentions a certain Lacanobia dentata, marked for the 40th region (Primorye), on the Japanese website, and in general on the Internet, there are no photos of it, maybe who knows what it looks like? Externally, however, it should be closer to w-latinum...

Thanks! I wrote a letter to V. S. Kononenko and sent him a photo of the scoop. I'll be waiting for a response. I asked him for a photo of Lacanobia dentata (Kononenko, 1981).

Late in the evening of September 9, a very unusual butterfly was sitting on the balcony door from the street. She looked like an elf from a fairy tale. The wings are common for butterflies with dark gray and lighter stripes, with a wingspan of 8-10 cm. The head, body, and strong legs were unusually large for butterflies. The head is somewhat similar to an owl's. It has gray furry skin along the edges, white in the center, large eyes, a mobile proboscis, and two antennae on its head.I write in detail, because the photo is not very good quality, and I do not know how to post the video. We watched her for 40 minutes. Place-center. region, Ivanovo region. We are still under the impression.

Catocala fraxini (Linnaeus, 1758) - blue order ribbon.

In our region, at this time of year, only this species can fit the above description and have such a wingspan, no one else can.
