I don't feel the size in the photo. For lateritia and hedeni (sometimes with an inconspicuous wedge-shaped spot), it's really a bit late. testacea-hardly, well, quite unlike, if Luperina, then rubella, but it doesn't seem to be there

I can't specify about the rear wings, because I don't have this butterfly: I took it for A. lateritia (it was the same size) and wasn't interested. I don't know if Gennadich took her to the incubator...

She is currently in the incubator

29.09.2015 12:16, insectamo

She's in the incubator right now

And what about the rear fenders?

29.09.2015 12:28, Andrey Ponomarev

And what about the rear fenders?

She's in the country, but I'm still at home.

If it was simple, it would have already been resolved. It's very nice to catch something that no one can understand what it is. The most delicious. smile.gif

When Gennadich arrives at the dacha, it turns out that the rear wings are like Noctua's... it will be fun then! smile.gif

Question on Elachista
M. O., Poplar, 21.06.2015
Elachista freyerella or something else. It seems that Elachista albifrontella is also suitable, but that one has a white head.

Butterfly caught in July 2011 in the city of Nikolaev, Ukraine.
It did not fly, but crawled on the ground. Perhaps the anomaly of the wings is the reason for this. What do you think, maybe this instance of Iphiclides podalirius
GYNANDROMORPH?

Thanks!
I probably should have moved this photo to the "teratology" section.

Hello! Please tell me who I photographed?

The size is about 4-5 cm, came across in the Penza region at about 8 o'clock in the morning in June. There were three of these butterflies at once, but two flew away when I started messing around, one survived until the end of the photo shoot.

Sergey, In the photo on the left there are two X. xanthographa, on the right there are four X. cohaesa.
To be honest, I thought that all the cohaesa guidelines for mainland Ukraine had errors in their definition. And there is this species only in the Crimea. But on Thursday I caught it in the Azov region. Maybe you'll find it at home.

Two upper Chrysodeixis chalcites

On the issue of chalcites in Kyrgyzstan. No doubt about the definition, the question is about distribution. Is the species generally known from Central Asia?
In the Witt Catalog metalloids, it is listed as paleotropic, with reservations – " in Europe, it is regularly found in the Mediterranean, from Portugal to the Balkans, both as migrants and residents, and is much rarer in the Nordic countries. It also has a wide range in western Asia, although only sporadically recorded from India and Pakistan."
As if Kyrgyzstan is not even close to spreading here – how much is the species generally represented on the Tien Shan?
