They write about what is available in the Baltic States.

Then, apparently, it is necessary to review the nemorella finds, since blandella will be among them.

And what are their distinguishing features? And then just the nearest point for Noctua janthe is also somewhere in the Baltic States, you never know))

Is this apparently Amphipyra livida? =)

Shamil, without holding this butterfly in my hands, it is difficult for me to identify it. smile.gif
Alive, it looked like a tetra, spread out more like a livida. everything should have been decided by the size, but ... 38-40 is a super big tetra, or a small livida. Looking at the rear wings, I still agree that Amphipyra livida.

And that's why I didn't write =) Because I scratched my head myself... Are there any other clues or signs?.. It is clear that it is difficult to determine such "dark types" from the photo.

It is well shown here:
http://molbiol.ru/forums/index.php?showtop...dpost&p=1117631
The lower wings of livida are dark along the upper edge and this darkness descends along the outer edge of the wing to the middle, the main color is brick. In tetra, the wings are much darker, almost without a brick tint, and brown. The upper part is not darkened.

Probably Acleris lipsiana, from one angle, such a complex and variable genus, is difficult to determine. smile.gif

All caught in the same clearing 23.09. That 1 and 2 erate is understandable, and 3 and 4 can be a form of erate or are they such hyale females?

Why is it clear? I got both erate and typical crocea from such females.
