Thanks! And what is the most obvious and reliable distinguishing feature?

Underside, of course - but if on top, then the lowland European virgaureae do not have a discal spot on the forewings, but dispar does (the polar and mountain virgaureae do!). And the black teeth along the edge of the hindwing in virgaureae are larger than in dispar.

With such a fat belly, I generally want to write it down in Gallerinae, but there are no suitable species in the Catalog. Unless of course it is a specific melonella.

Please help us identify the hawk moth from these images, if possible. I'm leaning towards Hyles gallii. To remove the butterfly better did not work - it all the time very quickly worked with the wings.

Good people, tell me who it
is Ochlodes sylvanus (Esper, 1777)
or
Hesperia sylvana (Esper, 1777)
Tolstogolovka lesnaya.
Even the "faun" is added here!
The same butterfly under different names on the Internet. And Hesperia is not even mentioned on some catalog sites.
Thank
you And at the same time I would like to know my neighbor.

Eudonia sp.

Thank you very much. I reviewed different Eudonia, the color is most suitable for Eudonia pallida. But it is written that it is not found in Ukraine. Could it be Eudonia pallida?

Perhaps pallida. It is very strange if it is still not known from Ukraine!

Where do they write what is not usual?
Of course, this species is known from Ukraine. There are few published finds, but for the Kiev region even Sovinsky suggested in 1935.

Thanks for the information. I searched on the site Ukraine Check List-iNaturalist, where Eudonia pallida is not shown, I searched for information in wikipedia, where the habitat is not specified, and on the site https://gdoremi.altervista.org/crambidae/Eu...pallida_en.html it is written that it is not found in Ukraine. Probably outdated data.

Dear friends, hello everyone!
We need help with reliable classification of butterflies! do not judge strictly if all of a sudden the questions will be primitive, I recently started getting involved, but I can't find a serious resource on the web! By the way, a question for the admins, can I ask people here to throw off links to sites where there is decent information on butterflies?
So question #1, I identified it as a meadow yolk, caught in the Vladimir region, is this true?

Question #2, I identified it as a saffron yolk, caught in near Sevastopol, and is it possible to understand the gender from these photos?
