I tried to determine it myself, but I couldn't. Caught: Cheboksary, "Zavolzhye", on the pine edge-clearing with sandy soils at the end of August 2014. It was definitely a predatory insect, as it was devouring a wasp enthusiastically.
picture: IMG_3105.JPG
The sawyere could not be photographed, but under the microscope you can see the division into 3 segments. I couldn't find Arista, so I attach a photo of the third segment:

On the reverse side, you can see a kind of spike, as it seemed to me, coming from the underside of the suction cups:

Well, the end of the proboscis:
picture: IMG_3113.JPG

I apologize for the quality of the photo.

Laphria sp. at first, there were suspicions that aurea. but if Cheboksary, then rather Laphria gibbosa (Linnaeus, 1758). But I do not claim, I will wait for the opinion of experts.

Something no one here recently does not determine (where did the specialists go?) - nevertheless, I will post a photo of diptera from Yakutia. Taken by my local friends. They asked me to define it. I will be grateful for identification. I'll post more later... In other sections, I started posting photos of beetles, pryoptera and other insects from the same friends. You also need a definition, take a look if you are interested.

Yura, here's an example of this photo. Well Tabanidae, Chrysops. In principle, we can assume that this is Chrysops nigripes. But the abdomen is not visible, the wing bands are not visible, the head is not visible from above. If you approach the matter responsibly, then Chrysops sp.
So this is probably already clear to anyone.

And what about genital Sphaerophoria in general with 4, 9 and 13 pictures? Say it's Sphaerophoria? Yes, and the rest of the sirfid like this in the photo....I'm not ready.
The same Yakut horseflies and sirfids on the pin completely free of charge identified and returned, and according to the photo...

They asked for it... I posted it. Now I will publish a series of photos. But they don't have pins on them. I'll try to catch it myself on my next expedition to Yakutia. I'll send it to you as a gift.

What do you think your fly looks like?
In addition to Chloromyia speciosa, there is also Chloromyia formosa, in which, in my opinion, the second one is more likely.
