There are 12-13 thousand rubles and a desire to buy a generator. Is it really possible to do this with such an amount in your pocket, and if so, which generator is best to buy?

Gasoline generators with a capacity of up to 1 kilowatt are mainly of two types:
two-stroke: you need to add oil to gasoline cost around 150 cu.heavier and louder than the second, using the example of friends I can say less reliable;
four-stroke: gasoline and oil separately, cost Kipor from 450 cu.e Honda from 900 cu. but these are lighter, in noise-proof casings. more reliable and longer service life. I have a Kipor 900 wattnik worked for three seasons, the consumption of 0.55 l / h is calculated for the maximum power.

I use a Subaru generator (4 cycles), bought in China 10 years ago for $ 450. Nice car.

Bring the butterflies. I'll sort them all out and attach shuffle.gifthem to Chile. I will try to tell the people in Chile what is there, when and where.

I'm sorry to interrupt your conversation, but can I tell you more about Chile?.When do they usually go there, how do I get a visa, how much does the trip cost and for what period do you leave, what vaccinations are given and where do they come from, where do they come from, and, most importantly, is it possible to "fall on my tail" to you, because of all the languages I know only Russian, thank God that I am fluent (without a dictionary)?

I tried this summer to catch on a gas lamp, like the one that was already mentioned in this topic (such as with a grid). The name of the company is like Campingaz, French with a blue balloon like this, there are also primus nozzles. They are sold in many sports and tourist equipment stores. It shines as a daytime 60 watts.
Unfortunately, I only tried it three times. The first two times were near a mountain river in the Kuznetsk Alatau, in early June. Only a couple of small dustpans and some moth larger than 10 meters flew. At night, it was clearly less than +10, fog, a river 10 meters away, on the other side of the taiga, 200 meters higher still snow lay. Maybe this is the reason.
The second time was already in early July near Krasnoyarsk near the taiga river, on one side a big mountain, on the other a dense forest, taiga; at night there was heavy fog - the result was generally zero, only bats...
I understand that three times is not an indicator, but so for statistics...)
By the way, maybe someone has experience fishing at night in the mountains, please share your information, probably in this weather and so early(in early June) not much is caught at all)))

Meaning a view of the hot water lamp?
In the mountains caught, on the screen a little, in the Caucasus on such a lamp on parking lots near rivers, flies for some reason a little, and in the highlands, under the passes, at high air temperature (i.e. until it fell to 0), butterflies-scoops, sometimes fly well and sometimes strongly clog the lamp and you are afraid that they will destroy the mesh. And in the steppe I caught the season with such a lamp, only micro, but interesting. Scoops 1-2 per quarter, a little dipper. When compared with DRL, no more than 10%.

I also tried it in Saratov, Asia, and the Philippines. It flies, but poorly-in 300-500 meters from this one, a daylight lamp was lit from the generator-there is a pandemonium of butterflies, this one does not fly much.

I have this idea.
Use in the trap UV lamps from the currency detector. I studied these lamps a little, they give very weak radiation in the UV range, which means that it will not be as blinding as DRL without a bulb. I want to try using this lamp in conjunction with the energy-saving 63W Philips lamp that I used last summer.
The power of a simple currency detector with two lamps is only 15W.

I want to know the opinion of experienced people.
Maybe someone has already tried such lamps?

This question is raised a little in "Svetolovushki", read carefully, there are only 2 pages.

UV lamps have already been discussed in this topic.
It's not about power, it's about wavelength. Ugh-they are different. In household things, eye lamps are not harmful, because they are long-wave. I tried to catch on this (36W) but did not notice much effect, the neighboring DRV-250 flew better.

The lama detector has a maximum wavelength of 200-300 nm.
Is it very long?

and the question, however, is a little off topic, but very interesting. Why, when you catch light and bait in the fall, very few and very rarely wintering scoops (Lithophane, Conistra) arrive, although in the spring in the same place they roll both on the juice and on the light? They come out in the fall. Maybe in the fall more often bad weather when fishing? But, sorry, the temperature rarely drops below +5, and in the spring they fly normally and at 0...+1...+2 confused.gif???

Probably in the fall they do not need to be active, they came out of their pupae and hid until spring.

At the expense of wavelengths, I don't remember specific numbers, I found it somewhere in Google. smile.gif

Yes, they fly well in the fall, just a day,or rather night at night is not necessary, this year the same bonfires of Vasinia and rubiginosa flew well in late October and early November, last year the same plus in the mass of transverses. Probably still depends on the weather conditions. As for the Lithophane, let's say ornithorus and furcifera are equally solitary in autumn and spring, and socia is really solitary in autumn and much more in spring, especially before the storm, but this is according to my observations, maybe someone else.

20.01.2010 23:16, okoem

According to my observations, the ornithopus flies much better in the spring.

Well, I then (in the fall) in the same place 2 copies. arrived. In addition, in April they flew quite well to the Resort - I took 3 copies. and there were more.

In the Ivanovo region wintering scoops Lithophane, Conistra autumn really something little arrives. How it will be in the spring, let's see.

Can I ask you a question about this topic?

So, I'm using a cube-shaped light trap with a light bulb inside. Frame 70x70x70, covered with dacron fabric from sugar bags. The fabric in the middle of each square is overlapped to make a flap. Many butterflies fly inside, while others land outside. After studying this thread, I noticed that basically everyone uses the screen. And now I'm all out of my mind whether to leave the same trap for the new season or go to the screen.
I ask dear experienced users to explain the better screen.

Thanks

In general, it seems to me that it is best to catch beetles in the light with a portable lamp using a
small funnel, an ultra-violet is attached to it.a light bulb, and from the bottom-a jar (stain)
I transfer it somewhere in the mountains, in places where there are a lot of beetles but they are difficult to catch
For example, just cut down a dozen trees
And collecting barbels is better than when collecting with my hands
Once even caught with Chrysobothris chrysostigma L., which I have not met
before But it was eaten by these reptiles mad.gifkozheedy

It may be useful to someone - a scheme for connecting a tubular LDS to a 12-volt (or 6-volt) battery, made on only seven elements. I just don't know what it means about efficiency.

The scheme is quite well-known, but more often people sculpted voltage multipliers, from which even burnt-out fluorescent lamps burned, and without blinking. But all this is not particularly relevant for our cases, but I really want to find a scheme for an easy throttle replacement for DRL-160/250, if this is even possible wink.gif

A burnt-out fluorescent or ultra-violet lamp can be lit from a multiplier if its output has an increased frequency of the order of kohlhertz( I used this before acquiring the generator), from the mains-by a capacitor discharge of the order of 4 mF(i.e. increased voltage), this is provided that the incandescent coil burns out on one side, and does not disappear altogether,

Regarding the DRL-I don't understand why the drosel substitute. I bought a compact Spanish drosel(250 W), it remains next to the generator, the lamp refers to the length of the cable. Drosel the size of the old 40-watt ones for luminescent ones, maybe a little more. In general, if you really need it, then there are diagrams on the Internet, but it seems to me that this is superfluous.

I bought it on the 3rd day for 500 rubles. at the Losinoostrovskaya station market. It weighs ~ 3kg. Production - Germany.

Thank you. Unfortunately, it does not differ much in mass-dimensional characteristics from the Soviet one :-) And it will warm up at least no worse, you can't deceive physics frown.gifIf it's 20 degrees outside, then the throttle according to the passport can warm up to 90, and you can't take it with your bare hands.

I want to ask a question that has already been raised in this topic (please do not throw stones at me).
Last year I caught in the countryside on a non-split DRL 250 lamp. I was very satisfied with the result. In this seon, I want to fish in gorord, right from the balcony (since there is an oak forest opposite the house). The situation is complicated by the presence of a large number of other artificial light sources. In connection with all of the above, I decided to split my lamp in order to increase its efficiency. In this topic, there are some tips on how to do this. But I still have some concerns. Here they are:
1. How safe is it to leave a split DRL unattended at night in a confined space, in other words, how much is it a fire hazard and does the amount of heat generated by it increase?
2. Is the outer hood also an additional protection against moisture and will removing it increase the probability of a short circuit?
3. Well, the last question. No matter how much I turned my lamp in my hands, and did not look into the part of the hood that was not covered with a lumenofor at the base, I could not see the inner hood. This is due to the fact that it is almost equal in volume to the external one and they are located close to each other?

I'm sorry, maybe I'm repeating myself. Why drosel, if there are bezdroselny mercury lamps, in the range from 70 to 700 W.? The conversation was above, but I do not remember how it ended. For the last five years, I've only been using no-car loans. I don't notice the difference. But a lot of problems disappear.

1. Extremely unsafe. If hanging on a der. wall, put asbestos on the wall under the lamp
. I have so left the lamp for the night burned with rast. 5 cm. 15 mm board.
2. It won't cause problems. The quartz flask is sealed.
3. Under the outer flask - quartz in the form of a rod with a cross-section of 2-2. 5 cm.
