I don't think there's ever been one like this before. Samara region, floodplain of the Samara River in the vicinity of Alekseyevka settlement, 03.09.2009. On a burnt aspen trunk from below.

Great news - Sergey Shibaeva has finished determining my training camp for the 2010 summer olympics in the Penza Region. Our list has been expanded to include two new types:
Chrysura austriaca and Chrysis inaequalis !!!
So we are slowly approaching the cherished goal of 50 species.
Yes, if someone knows articles on wasps-spangles of the Volga region, please provide the output data.

Wasp-shiny Chrysis fasciata, but not some kind of banana, but a good one.And you can only catch it on shrunken tree trunks.

Arthur, what do you have in your collection of wasps-spangles on the minutiae or pasted (poorly visible)???

Some of them are clearly pasted on. Blah...

In the box-pasted, and those that are on the mattresses-waiting for them to be pasted.

I have another question - how do you spread your wings for them, if you don't even prick them?

And I'm interested - after all, to identify some close species, you need to isolate genitals! And how do I do this for glued instances??
Isn't it easier to prick a trifle for a minute !?

11.03.2011 15:18, RippeR

Is it easier to remove the genitals of impaled specimens? In what way? So 10 minutes in a wet chamber and separated from the glue. But still pasted oss are not familiar to see, but the aesthetics are off the scale

Good question.
I fix the "insect" with two thin pins (X), then spread the wings, which I also fix.

christmas tree toys

mass Chrysis fulgida you have in Kazakhstan, imho...

17.03.2011 1:23, CosMosk

From the collection of Ekaterina Martynova

there's a parnopesus from Dontskaya perched on the side, well done - who caught it)
and I have it too blue from Krasnoyarsk...
Oh, the collection is some kind of unpresentable, stumbled upon and ready.... Frolov - who is he?... Catch short euchreus, Chrysis splendens and other bright and endemic species! we'll settle the score)
I don't really have any photo opportunities - such finely crafted views from Yu.Tajikistan! and a couple of awesome kleptids from Thailand with yellow traps..

chrysis fasciata zetterstedti-caught one in the south of Moscow region, but on a pole, but wooden-they are still curious should be)) Ideally - a pole on the edge of a forest edge, village, bushes, and even on an earthen hill.. For the Moscow region, it consists of 3 points.
And how many types are given in 1ex.! - these types - yes!!!
And then I look at the fees even from teberda-all the same hedihrums (((

I don't say anything about traps - they allow you to catch them when you can't see them at all, but so many animals will be ruined in vain!, if you don't save them and distribute them to specialists... But about such true enthusiasts, something has not yet been heard. Except for Proctos and K. Makarov and his associates, perhaps...

yes, of course! but they check all the posts, and they don't stop at all of them...

this is not difficult for elephants, and of course the best thing to do immediately with fresh ones, why postpone it for later?
if on PVA - it quickly lags behind with acetone. Carefully, of course, do not drown in it, but place it on a separate triangle. Or not to tear it out,but only to dig it out.
Medium-sized OS per minute?? tough ones...

Where do you fish? in the floodplain of the Oka River (I don't think that our Kaluga part of it is very different from your Moscow part), there are many xerophytic meadows with accompanying "accessories" - sandy bald patches, a mass of dry trees, settlements of single bees - catch there ... I recommend this purely in a neighborly shuffle.gifway

Perhaps a different subspecies or even species.

That's the point.

ATTENTION !!!
Last year, I bought a Moscow - made PVA glue-I cut out the foam in a plastic box, glued it around the edges to fix it with this PVA, and dried it for a week on the battery. Then I put steklyanits there and sent them to Oleg Gorbunov for identification. Two weeks later I receive a message - I received the box intact, BUT the entomological pins were completely corroded into flakes of oxides!!!???????????? That is, they are completely rotten....
He changed the pins and replaced everything inside. What is being added to PVA glue now ???
Friends, be CAREFUL !!! What to glue now is another question....

Catching glistening wasps with Melreke traps or colored cups with fixing liquid is certainly interesting, but how many other "unnecessary" insects die is a gloom! Yes, and the appearance of them then still the same...

In the field, when it is + 45, it is very problematic to dissect FRESH glistening wasps...

The field season is in full swing - glitters can be caught both in nature and in populated areas and not only on flowering plants! Wooden posts, walls, fences, mud buildings and plaster, dry trees, etc. Here is a photo from recent trips, while our comrades were pouring drinking water in the village, Sergey Shibaev and I became interested in old wooden pillars. There turned out to be a lot of wasps-glitters of which we successfully collected a series...

.. sticker os-blestyanok-to be honest, this is the first time I see this... But there are very interesting views! Confused by the brevity of labels!!? Usually they write something like this:

Russia. Penza region.
Kamensky district, 2 km away.
west of the village of Nov.Yesineevka
oak forest edge-meadow.
Leg. Polumordvinov O. A.

Date, month and year - I write on the label on the right. The label can also be in English, a matter of taste and goals of the collector. Yes, I can send a sample of my label (with a grid) to anyone who needs it to the mailbox (but I write the date by hand with a black marker...). You will need to take a picture of the copies from your collection and post them.

Oleg hello! I glue almost everything (I know that sometimes it's not practical), but for me aesthetics are also important. Gave a list of views under the photo, I hope correctly. You can also read more about labels:

Kazakhstan. Karaganda region
, Temirtau
district settled areas of mixed grasses
Leg. Obidin E. V.

Kazakhstan. Karaganda region.
Karkaraly Nature Park
edge of the pine forest
Leg. Obidin E. V.

We will be waiting for the photo collection!

I'm on vacation, I'm traveling around the region, so I rarely answer (I only have the Internet at the department at uni)...

Eugene, on entomological (and even botanical) labels, researchers usually (!??) missing a SPECIFIC link to the location...
For example:...3 km south-east of the village. Ivanovka.
At a fixed point, they try to indicate latitude and longitude, and now an innovation in this regard is to indicate data taken from the DPS navigator.

It was true, but still:
a very small glisten (one and a half centimeters) Stilbum ?cyanurum (Förster, 1771) from the Ul. region.

Yes, Stilbum cyanurum, but some subspecies. And in what place did you catch it and what did you sit on?
