Today we are with N. B. Nikitsky directly on Chernaya Square (Lukhovitsky district). MO) saw a praying mantis at arm's length. Unfortunately, he flew away from us frown.gif

And, if anyone is interested, here are the points that we managed to pull on this species in the center of European Russia (mainly from the article [Bolshakov L. V., Shcherbakov E. O., Mazurov S. G., Alekseev S. K., Ryabov S. A., Ruchin A. B., 2010. Northernmost finds of the common praying mantis Mantis religiosa (Linnaeus, 1758) (Mantodea: Mantidae) in European Russia // Eversmannia 23-24: 22-25.]):

On Monday, August 29, I again examined the secret oak tree inhabited by osmoderma. The tree is very hard, occasionally characteristic sausages appear in the hollow, in the midst of which I managed to collect several larvae. There was no imago. Among other beetles, I can mention imago and larvae of Tenebrio molitor, which were found in the cultural environment of osmoderma. The forest nearby is suspected of being hit by a hermit. There are oaks with a completely missing core, with a hollow tree pointing at the sky, with a few green branches. At the base of the trunk are old osmoderma excrement. A cocoon with an undeveloped and dead marble bronzer was found. There are no maggots or hermit beetles, so they must have left this tree several years ago.

The main threat to osmoderma is not collectors, but all sorts of structures like the green farm, which for some reason hunt for hollow trees. In the PTZ, a tree inhabited by osmoderma was cut down under the pretext of "fire safety" or some similar nonsense, since due to late spring, the leaves were smaller than usual

I apologize, of course , for being incredulousshuffle.gif, but still: couldn't it have been Neatus picipes and not Tenebrio molitor?

Alexey, Dmitry, welcome back! How was it with the eardrums? I don't see any...

I went to the PTZ today, changed glasses once again, went to the clearing and went to the Meadows. Glasses as always with a catch. This time, some of the glasses are filled with Catocala fraxini. And what are they looking for in them?!... Many glasses are dug and chewed by wild boars... in the clearing, in the window by the tree, instead of beetles, various eardrums and flies flew and on the way I caught another sphex. The window has been open for two months now, and no one touches it. This time the kronovs let us down. The season isn't quite over yet.

Took a walk near the house... The weather was quite tolerable-cloudy with clearings and + 19 C. Issoria lathona and Papilo machaon are flying. I was surprised by the large number of Aglais io, all the specimens are fresh, one even had a wing that was not grazed, as if it had just come out of the pupa. Is it really the second generation???

The following was flown today:

Lycaenidae:
Lycaena dispar

Nymphalidae:
Issoria lathonia
Vanessa atalanta
Aglais io

Papilionidae:
Papilio machaon

Hello everyone.Report for September 13-14 of this Yearamoscow region, Orekhovo-Zuyevsky district, Poplar-Voinova Gora-peat bog in the Poplar area.
Arriving at the dacha with a well-known comrade, leaving the DRL 250 turned on at the dacha, taking the generator and everything else, we rushed with it to Voinova Gora. The weather was wonderful, overcast, warm and without wind, the summer did not start badly.Closer to 23: 00,the wind blew out and it began to rain, so we had to quickly wind down.
I almost forgot, while walking around the trees with a flashlight, I found 5 porcini mushrooms, from which I then made soup, but more on that a little further.
I took only this for my photo shoot. In general, nothing interesting.
Ammoconia caecimacula was later found in Poplar.

I came across this on the way.

In the swamp I caught Acleris sp., a possible new species for the Moscow region.
picture: IMG_2684.jpg
Vlad caught Schrankia costaestrigalis and this baby.
picture: IMG_2851.jpg
And of course, it was not without incidents, someone, we will not say who, about the jacket that I gave him. tongue.gif The search for clothing in the swamp was not successful. weep.gif
On the viburnum found a caterpillar maybe scoops.

Why didn't you invite me with you?smile.gif

19.09.2011 2:02, А.Й.Элез

Somehow it was organized quickly. Yes, and we went out of nothing to do (partly to look at crop production, and buy honey at the Department of beekeeping); in general, we did not expect that something would already be from the autumn set. The day before, I tramped along the Setuni Valley and Victory Park, so it was generally empty (rare rutabagas and 1 male lemongrass for the entire route!). And you didn't lose anything at TCA today, either, as you can see. For female pennaries (should be more actively hatched) and-perhaps-other good things, we are thinking of moving next weekend, so keep in mind. If you have an idea before then, I'll let you know.

Did you pay attention to the pictures of the stands? The first phrase of the definition of a white hare plus a picture with "iris".
