Place of shooting/catching: Germany, Spreewald region, near the town of Lübben

Photographer's comment: There were at least 20 larvae in various stages of growth that had eaten a tree trunk used as a bench (probably Oak, 50cm diameter, 2m long) down to the core. What are these voracious insects?
