Years ago the Moscow publishing house “Izobrazitelnoye iskusstvo” brought out a series of butterfly-themed postcards in cooperation with artist Leonid Varsanofievich Aristov. Aristov is originally from Karpunikha village, Gorkov (now Nizhny Novgorod) region, graduated from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography where he had to interrupt his studies to take part in the Great Patriotic War and serve in the intelligence, later then he worked as a director at the Russian animation studio “Soyuzmultfilm” and co-founded the Russian TV film studio “Studio Ekran”. He also did make wonderful drawings of butterflies and moths.

The whole set of 16 postcards cost 54 kopecks. Kept the first issue from childhood (nostalgia).

So glad to know I'm not the one having such a "nostalgia"! )) Keep them carefully too. Lev, thanks for the links, amazing drawings! Looked again through all the issues with pleasure. Some time ago I started collecting butterfly drawings, not so many quite a masterpiece.
