Increasing the size of the insects photos on the website

Community and ForumWebsite news and updatesIncreasing the size of the insects photos on the website

Peter Khramov, 02.11.2023 22:19

The size limit for the photo on the website is 1600 x 1080 pixels now. This means that if you upload a larger photo, it will be reduced to 1600px width or 1080px height (depending on the proportions of the picture). Previously, this limitation was more significant — 1280x800.
In addition, restrictions on the size of the uploaded photo files in megabytes have been reduced — now you can upload single photos up to 10MB size and zip archives with photos up to 100MB (previously it was up to 5MB and up to 50MB, respectively).
Please note that if you upload a picture that fits into the 1600x1080 pixels limit, then no resizing will be applied to it (only copyright overlay), and therefore its quality will be, all other things being equal, higher than in the case of automatic images resize on the website.

We will increase the size of previously uploaded photos to the same 1600x1080 (for those images that were larger than 1280x800 when uploaded).
