Photo #10312: Spilosoma urticae

Imago

Spilosoma urticae

Base gallery. Upperside. Pinned specimen.

Photo, and identified by: Svyatoslav Knyazev. Image redone at the website

Photographer's comment: Compared to S. lubricipeda (look at http://lepidoptera.pro/gallery/10311/) urticae males antennas are one and half, twice shorter and look thin. This item genitalia were prepared for to be sure. Also, urticae usually has few speckles on its forewings and the hindwings have no black spots, anyway, this feature is not a showcase for identifying though.
