Hm... I used 60mm macro lens instead... No crop. Have few more macro shots wing parts close-up.

No matter faster or not, 300mm lens cropped sensor is a right choice for such critters.

What I noticed, P. polytes is actually not a faster, regularly doesn't fly higher than 2m above the ground as against P. memnon which are quite spread in Thailand and may be spotted in flower beds only.

Thanks. Don't you ming some lyrical digression? I was in Thailand not once, met these butterflies many times but always they passed by, never stopped... If they only took a seat once! No hope... Just watching them flying by and felt grateful for that. So when I saw it resting, couldn't believe my eyes! I barely breathed stealing up to it, was afraid to shoo her! Tropical ones are so shy. Couldn't even think of a better background, was shot sitting right there. Little luck that time.
