Certainly thanks! Turns out the species mentioned in Synev's Catalogue only in Primorye is also in Priamurye.

Alexandr, thanks, I saw this photo on, deemed it vague, so didn't mention it and told about Synanthedon hector, seemed that none of those three Synev species fitted. Would be great to put it on molbiol, please decide)

Vasily, this pic is from the first thousand, here is for about 5 years already, no one touched it, do you offer to wait for another 5 years? I think it will be ok to put it on molbiol. Dina won't be upset and the case is curious, maybe new species in Russia.

Sesiidae on molbiol are in this thread: There you can also find Oleg Gorbunov (under Melitia). Just FYI: this is Dina's photo, she has to upload it there herself.

Irina, here's S. herzi image, not a candidate at all. Whilst yours looks very similar to Synanthedon hector. Synev's Catalogue is not a dogma, just a guide. Should show this pic to Gorbunov on and give his ID here, on the website. :)

If Synanthedon, then can be nothing but S. herzi Spatenka & Gorbunov, 1992, most probably. There are only three Synanthedon species in Amur region, scoliaeformis, spheciformis and herzi. This is definitely not S. scoliaeformis, neither S. spheciformis. If not read Synev, I'd rather say this is Synanthedon hector (Butler, 1878) distributed in Japan and China, Flew to Priamurye?)

Anything new on this?...

Despite this has a similar appearance, S. kathyae, afaik, is an American species and absent in Russia.

Synanthedon kathyae? Or ssp.
