Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species

  • Длина переднего крыла 3,5 см. На темном фоне как передних, так и задних крыльев, выделяется распадающаяся кверху на отдельные пятна белая перевязь. Самки крупнее самцов, а их перевязь более широкая. Географических форм хоть не много. В горах Brintesia circe может подниматься до высоты 1500 м. [85].

  • Местообитания — сухие луга, лесные просеки. Дубовые и прочие лиственные леса. Вспугнутая цирцея резко взлетает и поблизости уже не садится, зато в спокойном состоянии может без лишних движений сидеть на стволах деревьев. [85].

  • Цирцея летает с июля по август. Или с июня по июль, как пишет Й. Моуха. [85].

  • Гусеницы кормятся лишь ночью, скрываясь в дневное время в различных укрытиях. Тело гусениц коричневатое, с продольными полосками, голова — светло-коричневая, с черными точками. [85].
