Date and time, location shooting/catching: 2015-06-06 00:00:00, Russia, Moscow reg., Zheleznodorozhny city.

Photographer's comment: The initial stage of cocoon formation (the caterpillar is just about to pupate). The caterpillar was collected on May 26, 2015 here: Russia, Vladimir region, Petushinsky district, okr., der. Old pools, on a pine log. At the appointed time, the caterpillar slid down from the birch branch on which it was feeding and wove a cocoon in the moss, which always lies in my insectarium. By the way: this moss was once brought specifically for this purpose from the same places where the caterpillar was later brought from.
