Distribution

Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species

  • Forewings with a narrow and even, arched slightly ochrous or dark yellow band crossing the median field from the beginning of the costal margin to the dorsum of the wings; the outer field is monotonous yellow, without black dots; less often, the front wings do not have a pattern at all. [204].

General info about Imago

  • The proboscis is visible in the form of a rudiment or even twisted into a spiral.Labial palps are long, pointed forward, the 2nd segment is particularly long, the 3rd segment is about 1/4 the length of the 2nd. Hind legs with two pairs of spurs. The wings are covered with broad scales with a small admixture of hairs. The venation of the forewings is similar to that of Sphrageidus. More than 150 species distributed mainly in the Indo-Malay region. There are 2 types in Russia. [204].
