Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species

  • For the period 1956 known one instance of male, and in which we describe.
    Size 27 mm. Head and palps pale yellow. Antennae reach half the length of the front edge of the wing. They are dark brown, with cilia. The front wings are matte black, with yellow coloring, which represents 4 rows of spots running along the wing.At the outer edge of the front wings between 2 and 5 veins lie orange spots, the upper larger and more oval, and the lower-small, irregularly rounded. The fringe on the front wings absent.The hind wings are black with orange coloring of the two longitudinal stripes: the middle-wide with soft edges, and narrower, which lies closer to the inner edge of the wing. Fringe in long, pale yellow flakes, which are the dorsal edge of the wing of a long and dark, passing to the base of the wing in the hair-like.The underside of both wings of orange, with dark bands on the edges and with a whitish coloring and dark oblique strokes at the costal margin of the front wings.
