Description. Length of front wing 10-15 mm. On top of the wings in males shiny dark blue with a very wide edge dimming rear wings with orange marginal spots in the anal angle; a female - dark brown to blue-coated flakes in the basement area. Below the wings are light gray with a contrasting postdiskalnym and marginal figure.Orange marginal spots bottom rear wings are fused into a coherent sling. Fringe colorful wings.
The length of the valve is 1.0-1.3 mm. Valves with a broad lobe costal process.
Biology. Steppe grasslands, rocky steppes, semi-deserts. Years of adults: May and first half of June 1 generation. Forage caterpillars: Salvia nutans. Winters pupa.Related and similar species. S. orion: Valves has no appendages; P. vicrama, P. antracias: outgrowth of the valve pointed.
