Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species
- The length of the forewing is from 2.4 to 2.8 cm. On each wing there are from one to two eyes on top of a yellow-orange stripe. Semele-like species live only in the southern part of its range, making the exact definition of the species somewhat more difficult. Ireland is home to the subspecies ssp. clarencis de Lattin and hibernica Hewarth (the latter was discovered here only in 1971). England is characterized by ssp. anglorum Verity. [85].
General info about Imago

They often rest on the bark of trees, on the ground, while folding their wings in such a way that it is not easy to notice the semele. They love thyme nectar, pay attention to the trees with the juice flowing out of them. [85].
