Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species
- Body length: 11-20 mm. In contrast to the similar species @ @ Buprestis rustica, the apex of the elytra is cut straight, the last segment of the abdomen with 2 yellow spots. Pronotum is less than twice as wide as its length, narrowed almost straight anteriorly. The body is narrower and darker. On coniferous trees. [249].
- The spots on the last segment of the abdomen are not necessarily yellow. They can be pink, white, red, orange, etc. colors. The main difference is that these spots are always present in Buprestis haemorrhoidalis Herbst, 1780. [PC93].
