Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species

  • Body length: 9-12 mm. Unlike @ @ Platystomos albinus,@ @ Platyrhinus resinosus is black, covered with recumbent brown-black and grayish-white hairs. Elytra with small brownish-yellow spots on the tubercles and at odd intervals between the longitudinal grooves. Pronotum in front of the base with a thin and sharp transverse keel, in the middle with a wide longitudinal depression. The head tube is very wide. The upper edges of the eyes protrude above the surface of the head, the forehead between the eyes is depressed. [249].
