Photographer's comment: Loads of the Black-veined White butterflies this year. The sight of a huge hovering female is really captivating, thoughts of the kind "Or is it apollos came?" Since mid-June Scarce Tortoiseshell butterflies arrive in peak masses. Highway curb is covered all over with deceased dried scarce tortoiseshells and single Silver-washed Fritillary plus Lesser Purple Emperor.
