Base gallery.

Photo, and identified by: Vasiliy Feoktistov. Image without retouching at the website

Date and time, location shooting/catching: 2014-05-27 11:16:00, Russia, Vladimir reg., Petushinsky distr., near Starye Omutishchi village.

Photographer's comment: The butterfly was caught by the flower spider Misumena vatia (Clerck, 1757), which was perfectly disguised in color as the broom flowers that the butterfly decided to sit on.. Of course, you can call this photo not corresponding to the theme of the site.... But the spider's ingenuity in disguise is striking. So: a hawthorn tree sat on a broom tree and did not see what was waiting for it :) About the spider species: http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Цветочный_паук
