I added pupae of another species http://lepidoptera.pro/gallery/25020

Me neither can find anywhere jankowskii pupa. Still there are pics of fugax, pupa was identified in nature by qualified entomologist. These two species can seem to be distinguished by photo.

R.jankowskii is distributed in Primorye, I confirm. As for this pupa, I got it many times, no win. This one, in the pic, is at home too, picked up again, no positive belief it will work out after two fails.

It's only one in Far East as most likely (can be moved back to uncertain). The thing is that there are plenty of images of R. fugax pupae on the web whilst can't find pic of R.jankowskii to compare. Best would be to pick up pupae and try to get imagoes to resolve all doubts. In most cases no precise ID possible by pupae.

Vasily, please explain what you meant by "it's only one in Far East"? What about Rhodinia jankowskii? Surely distributed in Primorye. Can anyone give links to its pupae, maybe similar to fugax diana?

Tentatively identified Confidently identified.

Moved to identified confidently: it's only one in Far East, no variants.

Not identified Rhodinia fugax / Tentatively identified / Yuri Semejkin.

This is Rhodinia fugax (Butler, 1877)? Rhodinia fugax diana Oberthür, 1886? Looks similar. Moving to uncertain, you please name ssp.

Rhodinia fugax?
