Photographer's comment: The cocoon was obtained from a caterpillar collected on 18.05.2014. Here: Vladimir region, Petushinsky district, district, village. Starye Omutischi (pictured in photos #29300 and ##29301).

!NB!
Please don't touch with bare hands chrysalises and larvae of Lasiocampidae and Lymantriidae. This may turn out quite bad.
Larva has small hairs which it later wreathe in chrysalis. I've just taken such a chrysalis and the hairs stuck in my skin. I washed it thoroughly water and soap, not sure what's gonna be. Here's some info about Lasiocampidae hairs: http://www.bumblebee.org/invertebrates/Lepidoptera9.htm. Can cause irritation.
