Photographer's comment: Gray-green form: Argynnis paphia f. valesina Esper, 1793 is characteristic in some cases only of female wood pearlescent. Classic females of the species: http://lepidoptera.ru/gallery/33855 they have a reddish-yellow color. Males are not subject to variability at all: they're always red: http://lepidoptera.ru/gallery/33857 In my area, the gray form dominates, but the classic (red) females are very rare.There is no comments in English so far.
