Well, I was thinking like this: what similar species is a closest to Kharkov? If they don't migrate, then should interrogate the author, if he happened to visit the South Caucasus or Middle Asia when was a child ;)

Everything is possible in theory... Even bear happens to fly... :) At least two things are confusing here: first, it was never noticed in the Black Sea Coast as against well-known migrants such as L. boeticus and L. pirithous, not to mention even more northern regions (please correct me If I'm ignorant), second, is this really Ch. galba? Similar to some extent, far from being sure though.

I have no doubts about the label since I caught this butterfly myself, in 1976, when I was 14 and spent all the summer in Berezov Mineral Waters resort, Kharkov district. Anyway, opinions are welcome.

Even if it was pirithous on the photo, there still would be huge doubts about label, Imho...

Imho, this is not miracle at all, just mistaken labels (sorry to the author...). It's not pirithous. Either not Leptotes.

That's a miracle! It looks mostly like Leptotes pirithous and if it's so, that's really miracle!
