Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species
- Длина переднего крыла — от 2 до 3 см. Для бабочки характерны 2 белых пятна на каждом переднем крыле и поперечная белая полоса на передних и на задних крыльях и красно-бурый фон на них же. Название вида пошло из-за густого опушения на заднем конце тела самки. [85].

- Лёт с середины марта до середины апреля, реже можно встретить осенью. [85].

- Живет обществами, в гнездовом мешке, в черновато-синем теле с двумя рядами красно-желтых с тонкими волосками пятен. [85].

- Betula, Alnus, Corylus avellana, Quercus, Salix, Populus, Rosa, Malus, Sorbus, Crataegus, Cotoneaster, Prunus, Tilia, Vaccinium. [28].
- The caterpillar feeds on linden and birch trees, as well as on willows and thorns, hawthorn, cherry and plum trees. In terms of food preferences, the species is similar to Eriogaster catax. [85].

- Гусеница пушистого коконопряда живет с мая по июль. [85].

- Куколка охристо-желтая, в крепком, беловатом, бочкообразном коконе. [85].

- Яйца откладываются спиралеобразно на ветке, при этом самка густо покрывает их пухом — подобию E. catax. [85].
