Distribution
- Regions of Russia; Khabarovsk Krai, Amur Oblast, From Primorsky Krai, Yakutia, Chita, Buryatia, W Siberia, Caucasus, European part of the former USSR. -W Europe, C Africa [252].
Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species
- The whiskers in males almost reach the top of the posterior corners of the pronotum; the width of the 3rd segment of the whiskers at the top is equal to half the width of the 4th segment or slightly more. Basal depression on the pronotum is usually lvupterior.. Black; elytra bright or brownish red. The head and pronotum are usually yellowish or brown, rarely black, the elytra and underparts are black or yellowish hairs. [252].

- - Larvae in weakly destroyed wood and under the bark of broad-leaved trees, mainly oaks and birches. [252].
