Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species

  • Body length: 7-10 mm. Unlike Platyrhinus resinosus, Platystomos albinus is black, densely covered with brown or brown-black hairs, as if dressed in felt. The head, the top of the elytra and the transverse spot in front of their middle are covered with thick white hairs. Pronotum without a transverse keel in front of the base, in the middle with a transverse row of three tubercles bearing tufts of dark setae. The head tube is not shorter than its width. The antennae are long, and the male is no shorter than the body. [249].
