Толстоголовка запятая в Европе распространена достаточно широко, хотя и не обнаружена до сих пор на островах Средиземного моря. На севере доходит до Южной Финляндии и Южной Англии. Кроме Европы к ареалу этой бабочки можно причислить Северную Африку, Северную же Америку, а также Азию. [85].

Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species

Длина переднего крыла — до 1,5 см. Окраска крыльев коричнево-золотистая, на грязно-зеленом исподе характерные белые пятнышки. На верхней стороне передних крыльев самцов заметна та самая «запятая» из пахучих чешуек, у самок этого признака нет, кроме того, они имеют более темную фоновую окраску, а белые пятна на их крыльях заметно крупнее, нежели на крыльях самцов. General info about Imago

Hesperia comma встречается почти во всех биотопах — на лугах, по полям и на лесных полянах. Предпочитает известковые почвы. В горах на высотах более 2500 м. [85].

Одно поколение с середины июня по август. [85].

Личинки лишь слегка опушены, голова темная, четко выделяющаяся, на ней леко различимы две продольные полосы. Гусеницы H. comma живут в почве в специально сплетенной трубочке, из которой высовываются во время кормежки. [85].
