Distribution

  • Russia: the whole European part, Siberia to Transbaikalia. Baltic States, Ukraine, Georgia, Central Asia, all of Europe, Turkey. It lives in a wide variety of flowing water bodies, lakes and swamps, in the mountains it occurs up to an altitude of 2500 m. [214].

Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species

  • Body size and coloration are highly variable. The body length of the male is 5.5-7.6 mm, the female is 6.8-9 mm, the forewing length of the male is 6-8. 5 mm, the female is 7.2-9.8 mm. The color is usually brown in different shades. Pronotum large, slightly transverse, coarsely granulated. [214].

Imago lifespan

  • End of April-August, females until September. [214].
